Very Rare Lakota Sioux Chief Reed Haskell Necklace Pendant Bolo Silver 1989

Very rare Lakota / Sioux necklace in sterling silver and mixed metals maybe brass. It was created by the famed Chief Lakota silversmith Reed Haskell. The estate I bought it from acquired it from Haskell's daughter herself. The story I was told was that it was originally meant to be kept in the family, but his daughter's estate had to be liquidated so it went on the market.

I could not find any other examples of Haskell's work, so it must be a very rare piece. His work seldom comes up for sale except from daughters liquidation years ago.

A fine addition to any collection as seen. Very rare Vintage Sterling silver on brass Dream Catcher Bolo featuring a Cowskull and stealing feathers Signed by Lakota Sioux Chief Reed Haskell 1989 / 3 in diameter 1. At the heart of Lakota Indian philosophy is the belief that all elements of life move in a never-ending cycle of birth, death and rebirth.

Everything the power of the world does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the Earth is round like a ball and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.

Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle.

The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back again to where they were. Holy Man of the Oglala Sioux. To view my full range of my eclectic eye candy!
